Create your own limousine out of a large cardboard box!
Make Your Own Limo
Can’t wait for your birthday or another special occasion to ride in a limousine? Why wait? Make your own limousine out of things you can find around the house and pretend to be a celebrity!
Here’s what you will need:
- One large box (like an appliance box) or several smaller boxes you can take together.
- Duct tape if you need to tape boxes together.
- Markers, paint or crayons
- Aluminum foil
- An adult (to help with cutting)
Instructions:
- Find a large box that it longer than it is tall. An appliance box works great, but you can create your own by taping several boxes together.
- Have an adult remove the top of the box.
- Color your new box limo with markers, pens, paint or crayons. Be sure to add wheels, doors and a license plate.
- Add pieces of aluminum foil to represent chrome door handles, hub caps and bumpers.
- You can add some details to the inside of the limousine too. Consider drawing a television set in the back and steering wheel in the front.
- Find some dress-up clothes and have fun!
Take turns being a chauffeur and passengers. Enjoy your imaginary trip to a Hollywood premier or a ritzy party. Be a rock star or an internationally known jet-setter.
Doll Limo
Use this interior picture for reference when creating a limousine for your favorite doll.
You can create a limo for your favorite doll by following the above instructions, only on a smaller scale. A show box might be a good size choice for most dolls. Be sure to dress them up for a fun night on the town.
Depending on the size of the box, you can add a lot of detail to the interior of your toy limo. Reference the photo on the right for inspiration and ideas.
Draw a picture of a television set or use plastic bottle caps or beads as radio knobs. You can even put some glow sticks in your limousine and turn-off the lights to simulate the look of a limo after dark.
